Where am I from
OXNARD, CA. 805, baby! I have also lived in West Covina and Fullerton. Currently, I reside in the Bay Area but you'll still see me back home in LA often.
How did you get your DJ name?
I grew up rather tomboy-ish. So, I didn't want a girly name. I almost was a "Pynki" or something soft like that. I wanted something solid and meaningful. It was around 1992. Music was good, maybe around it's best. I was digging a ton and collecting records. There were two singles out that I caught my attention; both mentioning the term 360. One, was "3 point, drop, turn stop and freeze. Spin 360 degrees for Blue Cheese" by the UMCs The other, was "What goes around comes back around again" by Grand Puba. 360. Threesixty. 3Sixty. 360degrees. The meaning is in the circle. It's karma. And, all that you put out in to the universe will indeed come back to you in some form. This name is me and, and it is perfect.
Do you DJ full time?
I romanticize the idea of DJing full time and I am completely grateful for being able to balance out work with working on my music on the side. My true calling and passion is in my career in Product Design and previously as a Front-End Developer. I am indeed a geek a heart.
I seriously listen to EVERYTHING. My sweet spot is the lovely stuff they called Neo Soul and slow jams. Since I've been in this, I always listen to slow jam joints after gigs. After rockin a club, I want to wind down and change my mindset; slow the mind down. I get deep like that.
Something people who don't know you should know...
I am always laughing to myself, giggling, being goofy AF. At home, I'm always dancing. Washing dishes. I'm dancing. Cooking? I'm dancing. And, not always the "good dancing". A lot of times it's corny, stupid dancing. Snapping fingers, clapping. All of it.
A few words to describe me:
What are your other interests?
I get this alot, "What DON'T you do?" I am a very inquisitive human being. I was also a latch-key kid which means I was alone and bored a lot at home. I used this time to learn a lot of things on my own and kept myself busy learning new things.
Aside from spending my time with Lyric and Symphony, Phife and DeLa, I am a photographer, makeup artist. I'm DIYer. I love building, working on and doing home improvement projects. I love spending time at home and being a homeowner. I love it even more knowing that I put in a lot of sweat equity into my living space. Some other obvious interests are fashion and food (both cooking and eating). I guess I like to #fitness, too. Kinda. Most of the time.
My father. My earliest and most memorable childhood moments were spent in front of my Dad's entertainment center where he would play records or music from his reel-to-reel. Yeah, I super dated myself. He would collect vinyl of all sorts of genres like Disco, Rock, Soft Rock, rhythm and blues, folk, soul, Reggae, Doo Wop; everything! My dad had exquisite taste in music. It was because of him raising me on a variety of sounds did I have the taste and hunger for music in my life and I thank him for that.
